Microsoft confirms Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” will come in next two weeks

Microsoft revealed on Wednesday that the company plans to issue its Windows Phone 7.5 update to existing devices in the next two weeks. Squashing rumours and speculation, Microsoft’s general manager of customer experience engineering, Eric Hautala, revealed that the company is making “solid progress” on the Windows Phone 7.5 update. “We now expect to start rolling it out in the next week or two,” said Hautala in a blog post on Wednesday. “At that time, we’ll also refresh the Where’s My Phone Update? table to reflect the worldwide rollout status,” he added. First Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” device Toshiba-Fujitsu IS12T goes on sale

The Fujitsu IS12T device will be available in Japan in just a few hours time. The IS12T is the first Windows Phone device to be made available in Japan and the first to run Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango”. The waterproof phone features a 3.7″ WVGA display and is powered by Qualcomm’s MSM8655 chipset. The device also includes a massive 13.2MP camera and 32GB of onboard storage. Commonly referred to as Windows Phone Mango, its codename, Windows Phone 7.5 was finalized by the software giant in late July. Microsoft is planning to launch a number of Windows Phone 7.5 devices on September 1, according to reports.. The date ties in with IFA, Europe’s largest consumer electronics show in Berlin
