Nokia introduces Lumia 610 Affordable Windows Smartphone

Nokia introduces its fourth and most affordable Lumia smartphone, the Lumia 610 running Windows Phone 7.5 Mango OS. The new headset is boosted by a Qualcomm SnapDragon 800MHz processor with 256MB of RAM. It comes with 8GB storage and has no microSD slot. The Lumia 610 comes with a 3.7-inch 800×480 capacitive touchscreen and its 5 Megapixel auto focus camera is capable of 1280×720/30fps HD video recording. The handset supports Bluetooth 2.1, GPS/AGPS and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity, and it works with quad-band GSM/EDGE and quad-band WCDMA 3G networks. Sony Ericsson CEO Bert Nordberg claims Windows Phone is not as good as Android

Sony Ericsson’s chief executive officer has revealed he feels Windows Phone “isn’t as good” as Android. Sony Ericsson CEO Bert Nordberg made his feelings clear in an interview with The Wall Street Journal, published on Monday. The Next Web notes that Nordberg responded to a question on Sony Ericsson’s rivals willingness to adopt other phone operating systems. “At this point I wouldn’t feel comfortable investing in a platform that isn’t as good as the one that we currently use,” said Nordberg. “Therefore we have remained with Android, but I am quite curious about Windows Phone.” Sony Ericsson had originally promised to unveil a Windows Phone handset in 2011. First Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango” device Toshiba-Fujitsu IS12T goes on sale

The Fujitsu IS12T device will be available in Japan in just a few hours time. The IS12T is the first Windows Phone device to be made available in Japan and the first to run Windows Phone 7.5 “Mango”. The waterproof phone features a 3.7″ WVGA display and is powered by Qualcomm’s MSM8655 chipset. The device also includes a massive 13.2MP camera and 32GB of onboard storage. Commonly referred to as Windows Phone Mango, its codename, Windows Phone 7.5 was finalized by the software giant in late July. Nokia’s Windows Phones will launch in six European countries first

According to AllAboutPhones, Nokia will launch its first Windows Phone handsets in six European countries this year. Oddly, Finland will not be one of them. The Finnish phone maker has said that it plans to launch the new devices by Q4 2011, and the first six countries named include France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands. If your country isn’t on that list, fear not. Nokia has said that it plans to launch as many as a dozen Windows Phones throughout 2012, some of which will pack dual-core processors. We’re looking forward to Nokia bringing its drop-dead gorgeous hardware to U.S. store shelves, too. Source

Windows 8 will coming in 2012

It appears like Microsoft is keen on keeping up with its Vista amends, and the company’s latest roadmap confirms this. According to the roadmap, the OS currently referred to as “Windows 8” should arrive in 2012 and Microsoft is keeping up with its tempo of 3-4 years per major release. Judging by the roadmap, the company doesn’t expect any delays. This could be due to the fact that Redmond is diligently working on it, or that the new OS will just be a 7 with a few new wallpapers, useless graphics-hog eye-candy and a reshuffling of all your familiar settings, so that you have some “fun” while you’re at it.
