Latest Review of Galaxy S II Android Smartphone.
Monday, August 1, 2011 0:09 No CommentsThe Galaxy S II is another smartphone running Google’s Android operating system, specifically the ‘Gingerbread’ version. The unit we tested was on loan from three.co.uk which is offering the Galaxy S II on a £35 a month contract. The main selling point of this model is a 4.3” touchscreen – almost an inch bigger than Apple’s iPhone – and there’s no denying it looks sumptuous with bold, vivid colours. Although the extra screen space comes in useful for tasks such as browsing and email, there’s little sign of Samsung bothering to do much with it. On its home screens the S II only shows the same 4 apps to a row that the iPhone and every other Android smartphone offers, they

Microsoft announces ten Windows Phone 7 handsets for 30 countries
Tuesday, October 12, 2010 10:44 1 CommentIt may have “Windows” in the branding, but Windows Phone 7 is not the desktop PC experience shoehorned into a cellphone. Microsoft tried that with Windows Mobile… and we all know how that turned out. Today, eight months after the Windows Phone 7 OS unveiling in Barcelona, we’re finally seeing the official launch of the retail hardware: nine new WP7 handsets, some available October 21 in select European and Asian markets and others from early November in the US. The phones will find their way to over 60 cellphone operators in more than 30 countries this year. Microsoft tapped Dell, HTC, LG, and Samsung to deliver the Snapdragon-based handsets with a carrier
Samsung launches iPad rival Tab
Monday, October 4, 2010 9:34 1 CommentKOREAN electronics giant Samsung said recently that it would launch its iPad wannabe, the Tab, on all four major US cellphone carriers, boosting the device’s chances of success in the key US market. So far, Apple’s iPad tablet computer has had the market virtually to itself since its launch in late April, selling some three million units in 80 days. Samsung’s Tab runs on Google’s rival operating system Android, and is the first device that analysts say presents credible opposition to the iPad, which proved there was a market for the intuitive touch- screen interfaces that small tablet computers allow. Samsung did not announce pricing details for the device, which with an 18

Tuesday, August 31, 2010 11:37 9 CommentsFor those of you out there with a Samsung 3D TV but are still frustrated with the lack of 3D content, there’s a new app that will solve your worries. Owners of a Samsung 3D TV, which is the majority of 3D TV owners in the US, can go to the Internet @ TV menu to find the new “Explore 3D” app available from Samsung. It’s a free download. The app currently only has three pieces of content – trailers for Shrek Forever After, Megamind, and How to Train Your Dragon. The trailers are streamed in real-time in full 3D resolution. 3D glasses are, of course, required. However, there are other tabs for video clips and premium video, though nothing is available in tho
Confusing Interface of New Mars Samsung’s Slick Android Phone
Monday, December 21, 2009 9:58 No CommentsThe marching orders are in: Google’s Android Army is on the attack! T-Mobile is adding the new Samsung Behold II to its Android ranks, which already include the G1, the myTouch and the Cliq. After all the fanfare surrounding Verizon’s Motorola Droid and Sprint’s HTC Hero, the Behold II has some big shoes to fill. But now that we’ve tinkered with it, we can say with some certainty that it’s … different. Like the other phones, it’s running the Android operating system. But it also suffers from some unfortunate interface tweaks. In terms of hardware, the Behold II is mostly ace. The phone’s hard-plastic chassis fits comfortably in the hand, and
