The newly-launched HTC Thunderbolt 4G is reportedly selling better than the iPhone 4 on Verizon Wireless, according to BTIG Research analyst Walter Piecyk — who called 150 different Verizon Wireless stores across 22 major cities nationwide to ask which of the two aforementioned smartphones was selling better. The results are kind of shocking. Piecyk indicates that 61% of the Verizon Wireless stores reported that both the HTC Thunderbolt 4G and iPhone 4 are selling around the same rate. Monday, August 2, 2010 2:05 No Comments

The unlocked iPhone 4 is now technically legal and technically possible. Just days after the U.S. Copyright Office ruled that bypassing a manufacturer’s protection mechanisms to allow “handsets to execute software applications” no longer violates federal copyright law, the iPhone Dev Team on Sunday released a jailbreak for the iPhone 4 at JailbreakMe.com. Apple launches free bumper program for faulty iPhone 4

Monday, July 26, 2010 1:09 3 Comments

Making good on its promise last week, Apple is now beginning to accept orders for free iPhone 4 bumper cases, but you have to submit them through an app on your iPhone 4. There is a new app in the App Store called “iPhone 4 Case Program.” It prompts users to sign in with their Apple ID, which will verify that they have an iPhone 4, and from there it’s a piece of cake: choose your color and manufacturer and it’ll be on its way. Apple says it will take three to five weeks to send out the cases.
