New data from StatCounter suggests that Chrome 15 recently reached a total global market share of 23.6% compared to Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 8 market share of 23.5%. Internet Explorer still has the largest global market share if you combine all versions of the browser, however. Google had previously all but abandoned Wave, ceasing new development over a year ago, but soon all traces of Wave will be removed from the web. Wave will become read-only in January 2012, meaning users will no longer be able to create new waves. After that Google Wave users have until April 30 to export their content before the service shuts down completely. It looks like it’s working, they’re getting people to use their social networking services at Google+ at a fast pace. According to Reuters, Google+ has gained 25 million users. That makes it the fastest growing website to garner an audience of such a formidable size, says ComScore. Google+ launched in late June and managed to attract some 25 million visitors by July 24. But, it doesn’t capture how passionate our users are,” the company said from its official Twitter Engineering account. Coincidentally we’re sure, the news comes just one day after Google bragged that it had amassed 10 million Google+ users in just two weeks, and that these users collectively share 1 billion items each day. For instance, the new version of Google Maps for Android now allows users to check-in at home, which could be good for some and not so good for other [e.g. paranoid individuals]. In addition, individuals can now see their location history through a newly-added Location History Dashboard, which allows users to see how many miles they’ve traveled and how much time they’ve spent at work, home, or out.
