Most likely thanks to the lack of subscribers, popular video service Hulu has officially dropped the price of their monthly subscription service from $9.99 per month to a reasonable $7.99 per month.

Of course, the company hasn’t supplied us with an official explanation behind the price drop, aside from the fact that it’s a better deal for us, consumers.

The question now is: will it bring more subscribers aboard? Quite possibly, but given that fact that Hulu is already a free service, and Hulu Plus doesn’t exactly offer “wonderful” benefits over the free version, subscriber count may still be lower than the company would like it to be.

As for the folks who have already subscribed, Hulu will go ahead and send you a refund for the difference.

What do you think? Will this price drop get you on board?
