Technology giant Microsoft has revealed it will acquire voice and video communications company Skype, according to a press release. Both companies have approved the deal, which breaks the scales at a staggering $8.5 billion, allowing Microsoft to control Skype’s future, which now includes full integration into just about every Microsoft device on the market. Luxembourg-based Skype Ltd. announced today on the Skype Garage Blog that the official Skype application for Android has been updated to version 1.0.1. The new update comes with several new features and improvements, including support for devices with smaller screen such as the HTC Wildfire. Facebook and Skype will bring together contacts, communication

Facebook and Skype have reportedly decided to team up together to integrate contact lists, voice and video chat, and other messaging services.
