Amazon expands its Kindle line with the new Kindle Fire with a 7-inch color multitouch display. Not only a e-book reader, the Fire is a multimedia tablet that streams TV shows, songs, movies from Amazon. Of course, you can download e-books and color magazines from Kindle Store. It has 8GB internal storage and Amazon provides free cloud storage for all Amazon content.

The Kindle Fire is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor with 512MB RAM. It has a 7-inch IPS multitouch display with 1024×600 resolution and supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n for downloading content and streaming media from Amazon.

The tablet offers up to 8 hours of continuous reading or 7.5 hours of video playback. The Kindle Fire is based on Android with Amazon’s own Kindle UI and offers access to Amazon App Store (no Android Market though). It comesw ith Amazon Silk web browser for ultra smooth web browsing.

The Amazon Kindle Fire is priced at $199 and will be shipped on 15 November.
