There is a good chance that several websites may have spoiled the Microsoft Project Natal party on June 13. Several websites have come out and claimed connections to reliable sources that now say that Project Natal will cost $149, which is about 50% more than the rumored price so far. Also, a website claims to know the name of Project Natal and says it will ship with the name Wave. Microsoft may have sabotaged itself by releasing a brown Zune MP3 player and by naming its social cellphones Kin, but we have serious doubt that Microsoft will be naming the Natal device Wave.  There is already a website called Wave that is operated by Microsoft and that is used to “bring you the freshe

I’ve been patiently waiting for the Viliv N5 MID to launch after first getting a glimpse at it before CES ‘10. I was hoping to be able to check it out this month as a rumor suggested back in March. Hopefully the company has improved upon the model since we got a few minutes to play with it on CES’s show floor. While the form factor is fantastic, it felt cheap and flimsy — almost breakable. We should find out in June. Via [crunchgear ]

Microsoft Corp. is trying to make Hotmail cool again. The free Web mail service soon will be switching to a new approach that Microsoft hopes will give Hotmail an edge over rival offerings from Yahoo Inc. and Google Inc. The upgrade, expected to be available in July or August, will automatically sort incoming messages into different categories devoted to users’ key contacts and Internet social networks. It will also provide previews of incoming photos, videos and other material without having to open an attachment or click on a link. Other tools are being added to make it less cumbersome to send photos, videos, documents and other attachments to e-mail recipients. Another tw
